Down at Momofuku Milk Bar on Metropolitan they have a very tempting deal of 3 cookies for $5. I have sampled from their selection several times now and last week fortunately remembered to take a photo.
From left to right: Confetti, corn, and cornflake-marshmallow-chocolate chip (I guess I was feeling alliterative at the time).
Momofuku cookies are not my favorite since they tend to veer on the “too-buttery” side of the spectrum, but they are definitely original and sometimes hit the spot. The cornflake-marshmallow is quite lovely in terms of texture and saltiness while the confetti is probably the epitome of a child’s sugar-cookie dream. I went out on the limb at the recommendation of a friend with the corn option and found it to be quite strange but not altogether unpleasing. Think cornbread doused in sugar syrup and underbaked.
Not pictured: the compost cookie featuring coffee grounds, potato chips, chocolate and whatever else is in the kitchen that day. Pretty good although sometimes a little too funky.
None of these hold a candle to Tazza’s monster, but then again that is of a different breed entirely.
